Mykonos and A Day At Sea
Mykonos
From Istanbul we sail back to Greece to visit of the Island of Mykonos. The sea is as blue as can be and all the buildings are white - very charming.

| Beautiful Mykonos... |
| ... on the beautiful blue Mediterranean. |
| It's very windy here! |
| All the buildings are white, including the many private churches built by independent families. |
| In the past, there was a law obliging people to paint in blue the wooden parts of their homes and buildings. The law has been repealed and now there is a mixture of colours - not sure this is a good thing, at least esthetically. |
| Charming narrow streets, lined with boutiques. |
| Did I mention it was very windy? Mykonos is known for its windmills used in the past to grind agricultural produce. They are no longer in use, but remain a symbol of Mykonos' vibrant past. |
| A very charming island with all the contrasting colours of the buildings and flowers. |
| The beach ... a very important feature. |
| Here's one of the local Greek Orthodox priests. He's smiling and looking very relaxed. |
Greek Orthodox churches are very ornate.
In ports that cannot accommodate our huge ship, Princess uses the ship's life boats to ferry us back and forth.
A Day at Sea
A Day at sea is an opportunity to rest and relax and get ready for the second formal dinner. Never missing a chance to get pampered I head off to the spa for a pedicure and hairdo.
We have the pleasure of dining with our new friends, who are in a huge stateroom with a grand balcony.
Having been invited over for drinks on the grand balcony we sail North along the coast of Italy and the weather is fabulous.

As we sail past the Island of Stromboli we are lucky to spot an active volcano. It doesn't look like much in this photo, but live it's really amazing.
Today was another great day. So far, we are enjoying our cruise.
See my next blog, Amalfi Coast and Pompeii 2010.
